Tatiana Fernández Geara (she/her) received a Fulbright scholarship for her MA in Photojournalism at University of Missouri, where she started a project about Dominican nannies which became her first documentary: Nana (2015). Her second feature, Santo Domingo Waltz (2021), premiered at FICG and received an Honorable Mention. Her third film, I am my Grandma’s Granddaughter (2025), won Best Documentary at New York Latino Film Festival. She writes, directs, shoots, and co-produces all of her films through her production company, Cine Carmelita. She also freelances as a photojournalist.
