Marlén Viñayo (she/her) is a documentary director, writer, and producer whose films Cachada: The Opportunity (2019) and Unforgivable (2020) have together won 38 awards at prestigious international film festivals such as IDFA, HotDocs, SXSW, Palm Springs International Film Festival, and Slamdance, and have been selected at more than 150 film festivals worldwide, including Telluride, the Göteborg Film Festival, and the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival. Marlén won the 2021 Gabo Prize, was named Iberoamerican Filmmaker of the Year by POY Latam in 2020, and was nominated for the IDA Awards in 2020 and the Emmy Awards in 2019.
