Lisa Jackson (she/her) is one of Canada’s most celebrated artists; her work bridges genres. She was recognized by the Documentary Organization of Canada’s Vanguard Award in 2020, and her work has screened at Sundance, SXSW, Berlinale, Hot Docs, Tribeca, and London BFI, and is shown widely on television and in museums, galleries, and educational settings. Her 2024 feature documentary Wilfred Buck premiered in the DOX:AWARD section of CPH:DOX, has garnered multiple awards, and has broadcast internationally and across community screenings. The award-winning dome/planetarium sister film, Wilfred Buck’s Star Stories, premiered at Berlinale in 2025 and has been licensed by several Canadian planetariums. In 2026, she directed an episode of the hit Netflix comedy series North of North. She is of mixed Anishinaabe (Aamjiwnaang) and settler descent, has an MFA in Film Production from York University, and lives in Toronto.
